In recent years, many modular homes have been touted by eco-geeks as energy efficient, less wasteful to build and a greener alternative to traditional stick built homes. A few large modular homes in Washington, DC are proving that prefabs are reaching beyond the original audience. They are being embraced by the upper middle class/upper class as cheaper, quicker alternatives to traditionally built homes.

Green Job Spider has made finding a job in the green sector much less complicated. The site has the usual “jobseekers/employee finder” features of other sites like Monster.com but only serves eco-friendly companies and jobseekers by combining the job offerings on other green job sites.

Green supply chains (GSCs), like all things labeled “green” are becoming more popular in the business world. Universities are providing courses in Green supply chain management. Professors are researching GSCs. The government has released one publication on the benefits of implementing GSCs. All of these efforts are directed towards the adoption, implementation and improvement of GSCs across all types of manufacturing and business. As a result of those efforts GSCs are creating “green jobs”.

Filing your taxes online, also known as, e-filing, is the green way of filing your taxes. Of course there are some who need to use the services of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to file their taxes, but for everyone else, e-filing saves time, paper, printer ink and hopefully stress.

Whether you think nuclear power is “clean” or not there are other considerations to be addressed before anyone starts building new nuclear reactors. Will new nuclear reactors and subsequent nuclear energy really be economical for the people who will be using and paying for it? Are new modern nuclear power plants really safe? Will building new power plants immediately bring more jobs to Americans or will it mean more money going abroad?

Iceland is on the global warming forefront with glacial melting exceeding predictions. Because of the growing effects of global warming, Iceland has been moving toward abolishing all fossil fuels by 2040 with hydrogen playing a large part in the energy shift.
