Green Holiday Shopping: Solar bags for all your gadgets Should you want  to power your gadgets as you cross the city, the campus, or the wilds, you will probably find the perfect bag here.  Below are a variety of solar backpacks, messenger bags, and even a beach bag all able to charge up your cell phone or mp3 player as you walk.

 

Voltaic Solar Backpack A solar backpack seems the obvious choice for students and campers.  Voltaic Systems has the perfect solution with their Solar Backpack.  The backpack shell is made from recycled soda bottles.  Inside it has a battery pack that is powered by the solar panels on the front of the bag.  There are multiple pockets with wire channels for charging several different small electronics.  This bag also has a USB cord or optional AC plug to charge the bags battery if it isn’t a sunny day.  There is a laptop sleeve but you can’t charge your laptop with this backpack.  You can buy the bag from Voltaic Systems for $249 or eBags for $199.20 with free shipping.

 

Voltaic Systems Solar Converter For those who don’t want a large backpack to lug around everyday, there is the Voltaic Systems Converter.  It is a lighter daypack that will charge all of your electronics as well. You can find it at  Voltaic Systems for $199 or eBags for $159.20.

 

Voltaic Solar Messenger bagIf you want a messenger bag rather than a backpack, Voltaic has one of those to offer as well.  It is roomy enough to carry your laptop, and various other electronic gadgets.  This bag will charge your handheld gadgets.  Like the backpack, the Voltaic Solar Messenger Bag has a battery built in and solar panels on the front.  Both bags come with adaptors to fit most small devices.  This bag also has a USB cord or optional AC plug to charge the bags battery. Voltaic Systems offers this bag for $199eBags offers it for $167.99.

 

Voltaic Generator For those who want to charge their computers as well as their handheld gadgets, Voltaic has the Generator.  The Generator has a custom battery for charging your laptop as well as smaller electronics.  This bag also has a USB cord or optional AC plug to charge the bags battery.  Voltaic Systems offers this bag for $499.

 

V-dimension also has a couple of solar backpacks and a solar messenger bag.  The solar panels on the  bags from V-dimension are not as prominent making the bag look less like a walking solar panel and more like the bags everyone carries.  The panels are placed in a rectangle in the center of each bag.

 

V-dimension Backpacks V-dimension’s backpacks are the Solar Backpack and the  Helius Solar Backpack both pictured here.  These backpacks will charge your gadgets on the go.  The difference between the two is the size.  The Helius is the larger of the two and will hold more stuff.  Neither can be plugged into an AC plug if the sun isn’t out.  Both come with adaptors for various different cell phones and mp3 players.  The Helius is $129.95 from V-dimensions.  The Solar Backpack also costs $129.95 from V-dimensions.

V-dimension Solar Messenger The Solar Messenger Bag from V-Dimensions has multiple pockets inside and out that will hold all of your gadgets.  You can also carry notebook computers up to 15.4” but it won’t charge them.  This bag only charges the small stuff like your cell phone and mp3 player.  $129.95 from V-dimensions.

 

The widest range of solar bags comes from Eclipse.  This company seems to have a solar bag solution to fit every need.  Solar backpacks, messenger bags, bicycle bags, camera bags and tackle bags.  Where ever you might need gadget charging,  solar Eclipse has it covered. 

Eclipse Solar Backpack The Eclipse Solar Backpack comes in black, blue, tan, and “advantage timber” colors.  These backpacks will charge up your devices.  Not many specifics are given.  Depending on the color the bag costs either $129.99 for blue or black and $99.99 for tan and advantage timber.

 

Eclipse Fusion Messenger Bags The Eclipse Fusion Solar Messengers come in brown canvas and black, gray and gray/black nylon. The solar panels are on the front and the nylon bags straps are two tone.  Again, it depends which color  you order as to the price.  Canvas is $249.95, Black and Gray are $189.95, and the Gray/Black is $149.95.

 

Eclipse Specialty Bags smallEclipse branches out and goes beyond just backpacks and messenger bags and moves into a whole new realm of solar bags.  Two different kinds of camera bags, bicycle bags, and tackle bags.  All are priced between $119.95 and $99.95.

 

Reware bags, also known as Juice Bags, are made from recycled two liter soda bottles keeping about per bag eight of the big bottles out of landfills.  This company offers a variety of backpack and messenger bags with a beach bag thrown in for good measure.  All of the backpacks have solar panels on their front flaps and the messenger bags have solar panels on the sides.  All bags work with gadget car chargers so that they don’t need special adaptors. 

Renewal Classic Juice Bag The Classic Juice Bag is a cross between a backpack and shoulder bag.  It is the thinnest of the three backpacks.  It has one mesh side pocket for a water bottle and a second fabric pocket for gadgets you need quickly.  The inside of the bag can carry a variety of stuff. $199 in the Reware store.

 

Renewal Juice Bag Backpack The Reware Juice Bag Backpack is the largest of the three backpacks.  It will hold your laptop in the back section and your school books and whatnots in the first section.  There is one mesh side pocket for your water bottle and another side pocket that zips up to keep your quickly needed gadgets safe and accessible. $275 in the Reware Store.

 

Renewal Juice Bag Daypack The final Reware backpack is the Juice Bag Daypack.  Size wise it fits between the two other backpacks.  It doesn’t have the second section for a laptop but will hold all of your other school paraphernalia. $249 in the Reware store.

Renewal Juice Bag Messenger The Reware Juice Bag Messenger allows you to cruise in variety of colors.  It has three different compartments for your stuff including a padded compartment for a laptop.  This bag is excellent for slinging across your back for that mad bicycle ride across campus or town.  $249 at the Reware Store.

 

Renewal Juice Back Daylight Series front pockets The Juice Bag Daylight Series messenger is wider higher and deeper than the simple messenger series.  It has one large compartment with a padded divider.  Underneath the front flap you will find a number of pockets to help you organize your pens, gadgets and and other small stuff.  There is also a zip pocket for change or memory cards you want to access in a hurry.  There is one side pocket with a Velcro closing flap to cover your phone or other gadget you want handy. $299 at the Reware Store.

 

Renewal Juice Bag Profolio The Profolio is Reware’s most professional looking Juice Bag.  It has two main zipper compartments.  The back compartment will hold your laptop while the front compartment holds all of your folders.  There are multiple pockets for work gadgets.  There are even special places for your pens so you don’t have to dig them out of the bottom of the bag. Normally $399 but now $349 as an introductory offer at Reware.

 

Renewal Juice Bag Solar Beach Tote Where better to capture the sun than at the beach.  Reware has a bag that will do just that.  Solar Beach Tote takes full advantage of the sun while providing plenty of room for all of your beach essentials.  You can keep your cell phone and camera charged up while you tan. $249 at the Reware Store. 

 

If none of the bags mentioned so far look stylish enough, you might want to checkout the bags at Noon.  Noon uses only leather, natural fibers and dyes to make its bags.  All of them are beautiful and pricey. 

Noon Solar Augusta The Augusta by Noon is a beautiful leather bag that will hold all of your stuff.  It has two side pockets and one large front pocket on the outside; a divider and two inside sip pockets.  The solar panel is on the back.  You can purchase this bag for $411 from Noon.

 

Noon Solar Elston Noon’s Elston is a leather and hemp messenger bag.  It has an adjustable shoulder strap, two front pockets under the flap, two large zip pockets on the inside and a small zip pocket for electronics.  The solar panel is part of the front of the bag.  $447 from Noon.

 

Noon Solar Linden The Linden is Noon’s tote bag.  It has a front zip pocket, two inside pockets and a magnetic closure.   The Elston is made of leather and naturally dyed Hemp.  The solar panel is discretely located on the backside of this bag.  $433 from Noon.

 

Noon solar Logan The final bag from Noon is the Logan.  This attractive shoulder bag has a pocket under the front flap and three inside zipper pockets.   The hemp accents and shoulder strap are all naturally dyed.   The solar panel is on the back out of sight.
